On International Women’s Day, Daniela Schardinger participated in the FemTech Figures panel in Mannheim, Germany — a discussion bringing together innovators, founders, and experts shaping the future of women’s health.

The conversation highlighted both the significant progress made in recent years and the substantial opportunities that remain ahead.
Women’s health continues to be one of the most underserved areas in healthcare, yet it is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic sectors in innovation, with market estimates ranging from $60 billion to over $1 trillion globally.
Beyond the numbers, the discussion focused on the real impact: improving quality of life, addressing long-overlooked medical needs, and breaking taboos that have historically limited progress in female health.
Equally important was the role of the next generation of innovators. Encouraging entrepreneurs, scientists, and leaders to enter this space will be critical to driving meaningful and lasting change.
A sincere thank you to fellow panelists Ron Snir Arbel and Frederike Engel, and to moderator Nelly Kranz for leading an engaging and forward-looking discussion. Appreciation also goes to the organizers and contributors who created such an inspiring environment for dialogue and exchange.
Conversations like these are essential to advancing women’s health innovation — not only by raising awareness, but by accelerating action across the ecosystem.
